1. What clothing is appropriate for a yoga class/private session? Any loose, stretchy, comfortable clothing is perfect. Please avoid jeans or constricting, not stretch pants and shirts. Sweats, leggings, biking shorts (no baggy shorts please), t-shirts, sweat shirts are all appropriate. Layers are recommended as the room temperature can be variable. PLEASE do not wear any scents, perfume, etc. as some students are allergic. Thanks. 2. What is the average size or your classes? Generally, we limit our class size to 15 students. There are usually 5-10 students in attendance in any class. 3. What should I bring? Soul Source Yoga provides wonderfully soft blankets, yoga straps, and blocks for your use. Students sometimes prefer to bring a towel to put between themselves and their blanket. This is not essential, just preferred by some. 4. Do I have to be flexible or "in shape" to participate? No! Bodies of all shapes, sizes and levels of "fitness" are welcomed in class. Participation in class will increase your flexibility, strength, and awareness. Svaroopa Yoga is non-competitive. Props are used to make each pose comfortable and accessible to all students. In some cases, an alternate pose will be recommended if a particular pose and a particular student are not a good match.
5. Why is taking a full series of classes recommended? Students will get the most from their participation in class if they come on a regular basis. Like most things in life, the more you practice, the more benefits you reap. Attending class regularly maximizes your body/mind's understanding of what you learn in class facilitating the utilization of the information and instruction being offered. "Drop in" attendance is available if a class is not filled but generally not recommended. Contact the teacher of the class you wish to attend to find out if there is room for "drop in" in a given class..
