Meditation
with Suchitra Davenport

Meditation Series

Meditation and the practice of mindful, purposeful, conscious living is taught sequentially.  Each class series is designed to move each individual and group through an evolutionary process, deepening, quickening and revealing True Self, through meditation, study and service.   

 

1.  Beginning Meditation, 6 week series

     an overview of basic concepts, grounding

2.  Hindrances to Mindfulness, 6 week series

      tools for  staying in the Now, duality

3.   Developing Intuition and Symbolic Thinking, 6 week series

       accessing wisdom, interpreting what is received, inner power

4.   Chakra Series I, 8 week series

       a study and overview of the chakra system, circulation

5.   Chakra Series II,  as long as it takes series

       an experiential in-depth group/ individual process, truth

6.   Conscious Creation

       transforming the world, vision

7.   Service

      the power of Presence, transcendence

Beginning/Continuing Yoga (Svaroopa style)

For new students and students who are continuing their study of Svaroopa yoga. Complete detailed instruction is given with personalized attention to alignment and guidance on how to deepen awareness of the body in each pose/angle. This course explores monthly themes over a 12 month period, beginning with Daily Practice.  Students can join any time during the cycle of themes.  Other themes include, Lower Spine Release, Backbends, Twists, and Vinyasa. Contact us for a complete list of themes.

Deeper Yoga (Svaroopa style)

For those students who have a regular daily, home Svaroopa practice and who have been taking beginning/continuing Svaroopa classes for a while and are familiar with the fundamental poses of Svaroopa yoga. Deeply relaxing, fewer verbal instructions, meditative. Check the schedule to see if we are currently offering this level.


Kirtan (chanting) AKA Musical Meditation

with Clair Oaks and Friends

Kirtan or Chanting is a wonderful practice for anyone, especially in this day and age of over-scheduling and over-doing, we need a balm for daily life and tools to help cultivate the inner awareness of our true contented nature, that which connects us to all other beings. Kirtan does this and more…

The practice is especially wonderful for those who feel they have trouble focusing the mind in silent meditation.  The music and singing captivate the mind – and hold it fast to one point – the repetition of Divine Mantra, which summons the experience of the inner Divine in all beings, focuses the mind, while singing changes the practitioners rate of breath –  all of which serve to quiet the mind, and bring peace, tranquility and contentment  - a true and deep soothing of the soul.

We will announce monthly, when the next full moon meditation will be.

We meditate at the Full Moon of each month to open ourselves to the

energies available and to receive inspiration and impression. We seek to use our meditation as a seed which can flower and bear fruit as service to humanity.

Please join us each month in exploring what specific energies are available,

to understand the deeper hidden mysteries of each Zodiacal sign and how we can use this Wisdom in our lives for personal and planetary healing.

Yoga Retreats,  and other workshops/events:

Yoga retreats are for all levels (unless noted). New and experienced students are welcomed to join us for morning yoga retreats periodically offered during the year.  Deepen your experience, understanding and practice with yoga poses, philosophy and more.  Each retreat will focus on a particular theme.    Check the events page to see when the next retreat will be.
