Embodyment® Therapy is a hands - on healing technique, designed to access and mobilize the client's own power to heal. Clients rest, fully supported, in yoga’s relaxation pose. By applying gentle touch and a refined state of awareness, the therapist acts as a catalyst, assisting the client in the release of deeply held muscular (and emotional) tension.   The release begins at the lower spine and radiates up and throughout the body.

Deep muscular tension keeps people from experiencing a natural state of health in the body, mind and spirit. Tight muscles create many forms of dis-ease in the body/mind - from common aches and pains to mental, emotional and physical illness.

Clients of Embodyment Therapy enjoy a wide range of benefits including, but not limited to the following: pain relief, stress relief, improved sleep and digestion, easier breathing, chronic neck and back pain relief, increased body awareness, increased flexibility, improved ability to relax, and a deep sense of inner peace.

Embodyment Therapy is powerful on its own and is a wonderfully supportive adjunct to regular yoga practice. One session can release the same amount of tension in the body as six yoga classes. Other bodywork, where one is attempting to release deep muscular tension, such as chiropractic, massage, and cranial sacral work, can also be enhanced by Embodyment.

Regardless of the clients’ level of fitness, they can enjoy the many benefits of Embodyment. Clients need only breath and body to begin their journey to greater health.

A note about Yoga Therapy/Embodyment Therapy. This work, like yoga classes, is most effective when done in a series.   A six session series received over 6 weeks or less can take a student/client significantly further in their body/mind/spirit than an equal number of yoga classes due to the highly effective nature of Svaroopa Yoga Therapy/Embodyment.   With each session, the client’s body/mind learns to utilize the benefits more effectively.   The sessions can be done further apart, however, once a week is recommended, until the client has had a series of sessions and has learned how to integrate and maintain the benefits.   The length of time for this “learning to integrate” can vary from person to person, but generally after 2-4 sessions, especially if the person has a regular Svaroopa yoga practice, clients are able to achieve and retain significant and noticeable changes in their body/minds.
